Dutch PM pessimistic on Greece, hoping for "a miracle"

Prime Minister Mark Rutte expects that there may be major problems with Greece, but he is still hoping for a miracle. "The time has ticked away completely. The Greek government is playing for high stakes with the interests of its own people." the Prime Minister said on Tuesday after a special European Union Summit on the Greek debt crisis in Brussels, the Telegraaf reports. Rutte called it extremely disappointing still have not come up with concrete proposals for a new rescue plan, but he hopes that they still will. Otherwise the situation in Greece will only deteriorate further. "Either the miracle happens and the Greeks come up with credible, serious proposals, or he Greeks do not, with all the consequences for the Greek economy that go along with it." the Prime Minister said. According to Rutte, there is not a lot of confidence left that negotiations with Greece will have any results. "But we remain open to a miracle that they will come up with credible proposals in the next few days. There is no evidence to suggest that, but who knows."
