Crime boss Holleeder indicted on three more assassinations

The indictment against criminal boss Willem Holleeder has been expanded to include eliciting the murders of Willem Endstra, Cor van Hout and John Mieremet. He will also be charged with eliciting an attempted assassination against John Mieremet, the Public Prosecutor announced during a pro forma hearing on Thursday. Earlier this year Holleeder's sisters and ex-girlfriend testified against him, linking him to these crimes. According to the Public Prosecutor, this incriminating testimony adds to existing evidence against Holleeder and the charges can now be added to the criminal case against him. The Public Prosecutor believes that there is now enough strong evidence to prove that Holleeder was involved in the murders of Cor van Hout in 2003 in Amstelveen, Willem Endstra in 2004 in Amsterdam and John Mieremet in 2005 in Thailand. There is also strong evidence that the notorious criminal was involved in an assassination attempt on John Mieremet in 2002 in Amsterdam. Holleeder already stands charged with participating in a criminal organization and complicity in the murders of Cees Houtman in 2005 and Thomas van der Bijl in 2006. The court extended his remand by three months on Thursday. The next pretrail hearing for this case is scheduled for September 11th. Holleeder is currently imprisoned in the high security prison in Vucht. Until recently he was kept in complete isolation. His phone privileges were restored last week. His sisters and ex-girlfriend feat that, now that he is allowed to make phone calls, Holleeder will take revenge on them for their testimony from jail.
