Suspect confesses to burning man to death

A 27-year old man from Esch confessed to the gruesome immolation of a 46-year old Syrian man, RTL Nieuws reported. The man was arrested with the victim's wife two months ago but she had nothing the do with setting the victim on fire, said her lawyer Serge Weening. Weening would not comment about the motive of the murder, but reveals that the two suspects had a relationship. All involved parties are from Syria and knew each other since their arrival in the Netherlands. The 27-year old man is accused of murder, however it is unclear what charges are being pressed against the woman. She remains in custody. The victim's burnt body was found in a wooded area in Boxtel on November 17th 2014. Police could not identify the victim until receiving tips from the public after distributing two pictures of the man. A reconstruction will be held to check the suspects' statements.
