Schiphol airport passengers on the rise in 2014

The Schiphol Group presented its annual figures for 2014 today. The figures showed that last year brought an increase in passengers, air transport movements and revenue for the group. The number of passengers at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam increased by 4.6 percent compared to 2013 to 55 million passengers. According to the group, KLM and its partners accounted for most of the increase. The number of passengers at the Schiphol group as a whole, including the regional airports, increased by 5.3 percent to 60.6 million passengers. The Amsterdam Schiphol Airport handled 438 thousand air transport movements last year, an increase of 3 percent compared to 2013. The Schiphol Group as a whole handled 484,250 air transport movements (+3.3 percent). Cargo volumes increased by 6.7 percent to 1.6 million tonnes. The group's revenue increased from 1,364 million euros in 2013 to 1,474 million euros in 2014, an increase of 8.1 percent. The total operating expenses decreased by 0.7 percent. Profit amounted to 272 million euros last year (227 million euros in 2013).
