Online retailers rack up €150 million from Sint to Xmas

Christmas purchases have ensured a significant increase for the weekly sales of online stores. In the three weeks before Christmas sales for online stores increased by 38 percent, compared to an average weekly turnover. This is according to a study Thuiswinkel.org, conducted by market researcher Gfk. Sales of Christmas gifts and other Christmas items have caused an extra turnover of 146 million euros. With this Christmas seems to do better than Sinterklaas. In the three weeks prior to December 5th the average weekly sales increased by 27 percent.
