Auction of ex-lawyer's possessions halted after celeb pays debt

The public auction of Bram Moszkowicz's personal belongings scheduled to begin today was called off at the last minute when Dutch singer and television personality Gordon offered to cover thousands in unpaid debt, according to De Telegraaf. The 15,000-euro debt was owed to Moszkowicz's former counsel Gabriel Meijers for his assistance in a disciplinary case. "I will pay the bill" said Gordon, "and when Bram is in the position to repay me, he will. I find it inconceivable that he has been abandoned by all his friends and family." Meijers had ordered the seizure of "all the contents of Moszkowicz's new house", after the ex-lawyer failed to repay Meijers for his services rendered. The outstanding bill only the beginning of Moszkowicz's unpaid debt, as he allegedly owes criminal Donald G. a further 35,000 euros, and the Tax Office has claimed he owes them over 300,000 euros. Meijers also has not billed his former colleague for an appellate case.
