Police find 1300 kg of fireworks in Amsterdam apartment

Last week the police found a large quantity of heavy fireworks in a building in Oud-West, Amsterdam. The more than 1,300 kilograms of fireworks, that was not mainly for private use, was found in a room under several homes. Storing this amount of dangerous fireworks under housing could lead to a disaster should there be a fire. After some investigation, a 65 year old suspect was arrested and interrogated. He has since been released, but remains a suspect. The fireworks are being examined in a safe place, stored and will be made unusable elsewhere. The investigation continues.
