Travel agency D-Reizen shutting storefronts

Travel Agency D-Reizen is facing financial difficulty and is forced to close dozens of stores. The internet boom is one of the reasons for their troubles, according to CEO Will van Hoogen. "We also have substantial restructuring costs by the fusion of D-reizen with VakantieXperts and the Thomas Cook Travelshops. The new German organization will continue as the DRT Group from 1 January 2015." The company wants to write off those costs this year and that provides a loss, says Van Hoogen. The CEO wants to close the doors of unprofitable stores. "We now have, with partners, a small 500 in the Netherlands. In three years I thinks there will be 350 remaining earning money."
