Transavia plan delayed amidst Air France strike

Air France-KLM's plans that a large part of their flights within Europe will be carried out by Transavia, have been postponed until December. Earlier this month Air France-KLM announced their intentions to compete with budget airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair by using their subsidiary Transavia. The plan led to criticism, especially from Air France-KLM personnel. Should the plan be carried out, many of the French branch's staff will be transferred to Transavia Europe. Air France-KLM pilots have been on strike since last week for this reason. The pilots do not want to work at Transavia Europe, as this would mean that their employment conditions would change. The strike lead to delays and cancellations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. Aggrieved passengers can cancel or reschedule their flights free of charge.
