Amsterdam police fire shots in armed robbery arrests
Two warning shots were fired when the police arrested five people after an armed robbery on Thursday night in Amsterdam.
At about 22:15 pm on September 18th the police received a report that three armed men entered a property on Van Speijkstraat.
When they arrived at the scene the police saw two men running away who met the description of the suspects. After a short chase, and firing two warning shots, the two men were arrested. One of the men is a 30 year old resident of the Hague. The other man's details are not yet known.
The police found a car with the engine running in the immediate vicinity of the house. The two women in the car, aged 19 and 23 from Rotterdam, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the robbery.
While searching the suspects, the police found hard drugs and a sum of money. The 39 year old victim from Amsterdam was also arrested. He is suspected of breaking the Opium Law.
