14-year old serial-attacker arrested

A 14-year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and violation. From August of last year, the boy is thought to have performed at least 17 attacks on roads and bicycle paths in the forests between Nijmegen and Malden, the Algemeen Dagblad reports. At the beginning of this month, police showed camera images of the boy on national television. After that, he was made unrecognizable, but the police announced that he would be made recognizable the next time if he did not turn himself in. The warning, as well as closer investigation, have led to an arrest, the police reports today. The boy has been apprehended and is in custody in a police cell. The Council for Child Protection has been put on the case.
