Gang violence cancels motorcycle event

The motorcycle event Motordag Zilst which was scheduled to take place for the first tome on the 20th of April in Veldhoven has been cancelled due to recent violence surrounding motorbike gangs. The police is scared that the event will attract rival motorbike gangs and cause violence, a spokesperson for the municipality explains. Current problems with motorbike gangs are independent of the event, the municipality emphasizes. The organization has respected the decision. Motorbike gang Bandidos recently arrived in The Netherlands, and have set up fractions. Their rival gang Hells Angels also has groups in the country. Earlier, mayors Van Valkenswaard and Aarle-Rixtel withdrew licenses for motorcycle events.
