First NL Bitcoin ATM opens in Hague

The first Bitcoin ATM in the Netherlands is located in the 'Eten bij Werelds' restaurant in The Hague, a participant in the Bitcoin Boulevard.The Bitcoin is a currency, just like the euro and the US dollar, but different in the sense that it is digital.

So far people have been able to use the Bitcoin for online payments, but the Bitcoin Boulevard, an initiative of Hague entrepreneurs, allows users to make cash payments to their companies, using Bitcoins. Staff from the Swiss Bitcoin Suisse were brought in to install an ATM in the restaurant for the project, which will go on for two months, allowing customers to withdraw Bitcoins. The value of a Bitcoin is over 420 euros at the moment, but fluctuates.
