Motorcyclist honoring killed friend hurt in crash
A motorcyclist who joined a procession in honor of a killed comrade, Thursday morning, was hurt in a crash himself. The starting point of the procession was the Surinameplein in Amsterdam, after which the convoy was going to proceed to the cemetery in Utrecht by way of the Piet Hein tunnel where his friend was killed.
Hundreds of motorcyclists had gathered on the Surinameplein to commemorate the 23-year-old Marwan from Amsterdam, who was a member of the Brag&Boost club. Marwan died Sunday when he collided with the tunnel wall Sunday evening, shortly after finishing their first long ride of the year. The ride had also started on the Surinameplein. The motorcyclist was injured when he collided with a car in traffic. For safety reasons police swiftly decided to close traffic to the tunnel in both directions for a short time.
