Dutch designers win award for new condom

Two engineers at Delft-based firm Wingman have won a design award for a new condom, Nos reported. The new condom, created by engineers Paul Breur and Adnan Tunovic, comes with a plastic clip so it can be easily rolled on with one hand. According to the designers, the new condom is easier, better and safer than existing brands. It also reduces the risk of rupture.

The two mechanical engineers completed condom design work in 2006 but production was started in 2012 after a long research period. They will receive iF Design Award in late February in Hannover, German. The iF Design Awards recognize outstanding and innovative projects in product design, communication design and packaging design.
