Ivory trader, 15, caught selling tusks

A 15-year-old boy from Eindhoven was arrested Thursday on suspicion of illegally trading in exotic items. Police were tipped off by a source abroad. The police received a tip that a Dutchman was selling a pair of elephant tusks on the internet. exotic items_protected species
politie.nl Since the trade and possession of such exotic items are subject to strict regulation, police immediately suspected an illegal trade. The investigation led them to an address in Woensel-Noord, where their suspect turned out to be a 15-year-old boy, who was trying to sell two tusks of almost 2 ft., a skin that is presumably from a cheetah, and a stuffed tiger cub, online. He did not have any of the required documentation. Police seized the items and the computers in the home. The boy was taken in custody for suspicion of trafficking in ivory and skins of protected species.
