RV sales up in Netherlands
In the Netherlands, sales of new caravans has almost halved over the past five years, according to figures released by Bovag trade association and office VWE.
In 2013, around 5,800 caravans were sold in the Netherlands, compared with more than 10,000 caravans in 2009, a 44% decrease, Reuters reported.
However, the sale of both used and new RVs in the same period has increased by 15%, mainly because of growing sale of RVs.
Since 2009, the number of campers increased by 43.8%, from 59,556 units to 85,628 units early this year.
According to the organizations, campers are very popular among senior citizen in the Netherlands.
