Netherlands, Nigeria Step Up Cooperation Against Human Trafficking

The Netherlands Police will strengthen its existing cooperation with Nigeria’s National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Related Matters (NAPTIP) to battle human trafficking. The two organizations plan to improve shared intelligence and investigation system, reports This Day Live. Oct. 23, Netherland’s National Public Prosecutor on Trafficking in Human Beings (THB) Warner Ten-Kate attended a two-day Seminar on International Cooperation themed Enshrining a positive Investigation Regime towards Effective Combat of TIP” in Abuja, Nigeria. Politie Logo / Wikipedia Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Warner Ten-Kate said in Europe, there is a general concept to focus on collaboration with NAPTIP to fight TIP. According to Warner Ten-Kate, an ongoing project, European Multidisciplinary Platform against Criminal Threats (EMPACT), is also directed at fighting TIP.
