Arnhem Jihad-goers apprehended

At the request of the Netherlands, the German police arrested two men from Arnhem who were planning to take part in the international jihad in Syria, reports news program Nieuwsuur.The men (26 and 21) were arrested mid-August in the German town Kleef, driving a rental car full of combat clothing, cash, new iPhones and SIM cards. They will soon be handed over to The Netherlands. Jihad

Wikimedia commons One of the two has an older brother who already traveled to Syria earlier, apparent from documents in the possession of the justice department, according to Nieuwsuur. Neighbors of the second suspect say he also has an older brother in Syria. According to Nieuwsuur the 21-year-old man was a roll model for immigrant youth in the Arnhem Malburgen district. He worked as a volunteer at the Youth Supervision Team, and was an avid kick boxer
