Digital TV Access at 85%

The number of digital TV connections in the Netherlands increased by 1.0 percent in the second quarter of 2013 to 6.543 million on June 30. Nearly 85 percent of all households have a digital TV connection, Telecompaper reports. There are 3.68 million cable subscribers with analogue TV connection. Telecompaper estimated the sale income for the consumer TV market as €393 million in the second quarter, a small difference from the first quarter of 2013. Telecompaper anticipates a boost of 7.2 percent in digital TV connections to about 6.83 million this year as a result of expansion of IPTV via DSL and FTTH. Photo by Alan/flickr
