NL Asks EU to End Help to Egypt

Netherlands’ Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans has advised the Dutch parliament of his plans to persuade Brussels to end all help to Egypt as the violent aggression persists, Dutch media reported on Tuesday. Tahrir Square, Downtown Cairo, Egypt
Photo by Crashsystems/Wikimedia Commons "It would be incomprehensible if the EU offered help as long as the different groups are not talking to each other," he said. Timmermans said there are 5,500 Dutch tourists in Egypt at the moment while 1,400 are working and residing there. The Netherlands already issued a travel advisory against Egypt. Foreign ministers will have an urgent meeting in Brussels on Wednesday to talk about Egypt’s situation. The Netherlands already discontinued its small assistance program to Egypt last week.
