Travel Warning to Egypt is Now Tightened

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to tighten the travel warning to Egypt, following a crisis in the country caused by a clash between the military force and Islamist supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. Luc Legay/wikimedia.org The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Frans Timmermans, advises Dutch people not to go to the Egyptian holiday resorts on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba for a non-strictly necessary vacation. The Ministry also recommends the Dutch people who are about to travel or already on the vacation to contact their travel agent. Earlier, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had advised against all travel to every main part of Egypt, with the exception to the holiday areas. Currently, The Ministry said that although the resorts are far from the chaos spot, but due to the uncertain situation, the travel precaution has been tightened. To keep the situation well controlled, two employees of the Ministry arrived in Hurghada and Sharm el Sheik on Friday evening. According to the Ministry, everyone needs to determine whether the trip and the stay in Egypt are essential or not, nos.nl reports. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the travel warning is in line with most of other European countries.
