NL-UK-Albania-Germany Film

The UK’s Film and Music Entertainment (F&ME), Albania’s Act Triangle Productions (ATP), Germany’s Lara Film, and the Netherland’s Popov Film are working on a film entitled Amsterdam Express, the first UK-Albania co-production. Post-production of Amsterdam Express will be done in Amsterdam
Photo by JORGE A. RAMOS C./Wikimedia Commons The joint production recently completed the first part of its month-and-a-half filming in Amsterdam before shooting in Tirana. The movie will be finished by August 23 and the post-production will take place in Amsterdam. The film’s story revolves around a young Albanian expatriate named Blerim Destani in Amsterdam who becomes a victim of drug intimidations and sex traffickers. He is also forced to marry a Dutch young woman even though he is in love with someone else. Executive producer Fatmir Koci and Jonathan Preece wrote the script. Other producers feature F&ME’s Mike Downey and Sam Taylor with Xhevdet Feri and Blerim Destani in co-production with Dragan Bakema and Kuba Szutkowski. The Albanian Film Centre supports the production while equity investments came from the co-producers. The group wants an immediate release of a cut to possible sales agents and they are looking forward to the screening at the Berlinale next year. Source: Screen Daily
