New Video Referee Technology

The Dutch football association is ready to test the ‘video referee’ in live matches, using an immediate replay in the next couple of seasons in Eredivisie, reports Telegraaf. Pieter Vink (Dutch football referee) and his assistants

For the first time, a well-known European league will use instant replay in their games. However, due to its low reliability, the real game referee will still be responsible for the final approval of the video referee’s decisions. Dutch football association officials announced the prospect of putting this latest innovation into practice if the trial becomes successful.
