Volleyball: Netherlands VS Korea

On Sunday, the Netherlands defeated Korea 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20) in Pool C of the FIVB World League Intercontinental Round held at the Yugwansoon Gym. Wytze Kooistra, Netherlands Player
Zorro2212/Wikimedia Commons During the first and second sets, the Dutch team controlled the match. Despite Korea’s attempt to draw near using their teamwork and defense, they fell short to the Dutch players' height and dominance. Korea’s Jeon Kwang-In and Seo Jae-Duck collectively scored 26 points; however, they lost 19 points on faults. The Netherlands, meanwhile, played a steady and successful match, scoring more points and fewer errors. Jelte Maan managed 10 spikes with only 2 faults. The Netherlands proved they were more superior by securing 43 points on attack and only obtaining 11 errors. The active Koreans took their advantage of 18-17 in the second set but with Niels Klapwijk and Thomas Koelewijn's defensive play, they were ineffective. On the third set, Jeon Kwang-In attacked and helped the team sustain their momentum early on the fourth set. But the Dutch team recovered and ended the game at 25-20.
