Among the nominees is Elanor Boekholt‑O’Sullivan, a lieutenant‑general in the Royal Netherlands Air Force and the first woman to reach that rank in the Dutch armed forces, NRC reports. Born in Ireland and raised in Culemborg, she joined the Air Force at 18, later serving in senior leadership roles. She is now reportedly set to receive the Aletta Jacobs Prize for her contributions to gender equality within the military.
