Over 130 Ukrainian soldiers receiving treatment, rehab in Netherlands
More than 130 Ukrainian military personnel are currently receiving medical treatment or rehabilitation in the Netherlands, including dozens treated in recent years.
Andriy Kostin told the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform that the cases involve “very serious” injuries and that the soldiers are undergoing both physical and psychological recovery. “Many of our soldiers are undergoing unique operations in which Dutch doctors, using the latest technologies, are literally reconstructing damaged body parts,” Kostin said.
According to Kostin, Ukrainian soldiers are being treated at university medical centers in Rotterdam, Maastricht, Leiden, Groningen, and Utrecht. Rehabilitation care is also being provided at centers in Zwolle, Amsterdam, and The Hague, as well as at the military rehabilitation center in Doorn.
The Dutch Ministry of Defense reported in December last year that 89 wounded Ukrainians have been treated at the specialized military rehabilitation clinic in Doorn over recent years.
