Police release photos of man wanted for sexually assaulting woman in Zeist
The police have published photos of a man wanted for sexually attacking a woman in broad daylight in Zeist on Friday afternoon. Sharing a suspect’s photo is a significant step that the authorities do not take lightly, but the “severity of the offenses justifies the use of this significant tool,” the police said.
The man approached a woman on Prinses Mariannelaan at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, and then attacked her. The police did not say what happened, only that he committed a “serious sexual assault.” He fled into the bushes after attacking the woman.
Earlier that day, around noon, another woman was approached by a man with a similar description on Grensweg. The man gave her an uneasy feeling, so she shouted for help, and he fled.
The police have searched far and wide for the man, but to no avail so far. With the permission of the Public Prosecution Service (OM), the police have now published photos of him, hoping that the public can help identify and locate him.
The man is between the ages of 30 and 50 with a light complexion, a muscular build, and short or closely cropped hair. On the day he attacked the woman in Zeist, he was wearing a black tank top and denim shorts. He spoke English with an Eastern European accent.
