Young boys on fatbikes slapped 24 women’s backsides in Amsterdam parks; No arrests yet

Police in Amsterdam are receiving more and more reports of women who are being hit on their backside by young boys on fatbikes while they are running. The perpetrators film themselves doing this and then upload the videos on social media. There have been 24 reports of this kind of sexual assault since the start of 2025, a spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that these incidents usually happened in the Rembrandtpark, but there have also been reports of the incidents occurring in other parks like the Flevopark, Vondelpark, and Erasmuspark, and in the nearby vicinity of these parks.

Police are calling on the culprits to “stop this behavior immediately,” and emphasized that it is “not just very distressing for the victims, but it is also punishable by law.” Anyone caught performing this act can be sentenced to community service or a jail sentence.

Victims, which can also be people who were not working out, and any witnesses of any similar looking acts are asked to report this to the police. It is “crucial” to the investigation that this information is shared.

A similar spree of incidents happened in Meppel, Drenthe, earlier this month. Five minors were arrested for hitting people or squeezing their buttocks while going past on fatbikes.
