Second explosion at Hague event center in less than a week

An explosion overnight damaged the Kristal events center in The Hague. The blast and resulting fire shattered several windows, badly damaged the front door, and caused soot damage to the facade, Omroep West reported.

The explosion at the conference center on Wegastraat happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The blast caused a fire, which responding firefighters extinguished.

As far as is known, no one has been arrested. The police are investigating.

This was the second explosion at the building in less than a week. On Friday, an explosive was set off at the main entrance on the other side of the building.

According to the broadcaster, the damage from Friday’s explosion has since been cleaned up and repaired.
