Train services to and from Schiphol were restored overnight after repairs to a damaged overhead line, the NS announced early Monday. The disruption had caused significant delays in train traffic on Sunday, stranding passengers and affecting airport operations.
The defective overhead line was repaired earlier than anticipated, with train service resuming at approximately 2 a.m. ProRail, the rail infrastructure manager, initially expected the repairs to be completed by 5 a.m. on Monday but succeeded ahead of schedule.
“ProRail managed to complete the repairs earlier than expected,” NS said in a statement, confirming that the timetable had returned to normal.
