KLM flights return to Schiphol over technical issues
Two KLM Boeing 777 aircraft were forced to return to Schiphol Airport on Sunday night due to technical problems, according to the airline. Both planes landed safely, and all passengers and crew members were unharmed. It remains unclear when and how passengers will reach their intended destinations.
KLM Flight 835, bound for Bali with a scheduled stop in Singapore, took off from Schiphol at 9:54 p.m. on Sunday. While flying over Germany, the aircraft encountered a technical issue. The decision was made to return to Amsterdam, where the plane landed safely at around 11:30 p.m.
Earlier on Sunday, KLM Flight 895, en route to Shanghai, departed Schiphol at 2:33 p.m. The flight developed a problem with the onboard drinking water system while flying over Azerbaijan. The crew opted to return to Amsterdam to address the issue. The plane also landed at Schiphol around 11:30 p.m.
The incidents follow another disruption on Saturday when a KLM flight from Oslo to Amsterdam diverted to a different airport in Norway. The diversion occurred after a loud noise was heard during takeoff. Upon landing, the plane veered off the runway at low speed and came to rest in the grass. The six crew members and most passengers were safely transported to Amsterdam on Sunday.
