Three Dutch men sentenced to prison in Antwerp for mistaken identity murder attempt
Three Dutch men were sentenced to prison on Tuesday by the court in Antwerp for six and four years for a mistaken identity assassination attempt related to the drug world that occurred in the Antwerp neighborhood of Borgerhout.
The owner of the home that was shot at survived the attack, but the three culprits were still given hefty punishments by the court. Rocco Q. the man who ordered the attempt, was given six years in prison, which is one year more than the Public Prosecution’s recommendation. He was also ordered to pay a fine of 8,000 euros.
Timo L. and Garmay B. were both sentenced to four years in prison and fined 2,000 euros for carrying out the attempt.
The home in Borgerhout was shot at on June 15, 2023. The attack was, the police suspect, meant for criminal Nabil L. who lives in the same street.
L. and B. fled after the shooting but were arrested quite soon after driving away, as the neighbors had seen the car that they drove away in. The investigation also brought Rocco Q. into the picture.
