Michelin awards Bib Gourmand to 15 more restaurants in the Netherlands
Michelin awarded Bib Gourmand to 15 Dutch restaurants ahead of the Michelin awards next week. A Bib Gourmand “is a guarantee of excellent value for money, regardless of the cooking style,” Michelin said. It is a guarantee that guests can enjoy a delicious and generous meal at a reasonable price.
Four more Amsterdam eateries and two each in Groningen and Leiden can now call themselves Bib Gourmand restaurants. “After more than a year of research throughout the Netherlands, our inspectors have found 15 new gems that together represent a diverse culinary and conceptual panorama,” said Gwendal Poullenec, international director of the Michelin Guides
She called the Bib Gourmand “a coveted award for gourmets looking for special and affordable dining experiences. An invitation to enjoy a generous, convivial, and often uninhibited cuisine.”
Amsterdam saw four restaurants added to its Bib Gourmand list this year - the Cantonese restaurant Sea Palace, Mediterranean restaurants Gitane and Alba, and French restaurant Auberge – cuisine française. Groningen added two new Bib Gourmand restaurants - brewery bistro Dokjard and Niemeijer, which offers exotic flavors with a nod to the Dutch soil. In Leiden, Weilinga and Café Visscher both received Bib Gourmand awards.
The other new Bib Gourmand restaurants are Lucie Cocina in Eindhoven, Café Samabe in Haarlem, MOUT & HOUT in Vessem, Resumé by 6&24 in The Hague, Te koop in Tilburg, LEV by Mike in Winterswijk, and De Wilg in De Mortel.
