Wanted criminal ‘Bolle Jos’ sentenced to 24 years in prison
The court in Rotterdam sentenced the 32-year-old Jos Leijdekkers, also known as ‘Bolle Jos,’ to 24 years in jail on Tuesday for international cocaïne trafficking and ordering an assassination. The charges were related to the import of 7,000 kilos of cocaine.
Leijdekkers, from Breda, has been sought internationally for several years. The trial was conducted without his presence, and he did not have an attorney representing him. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) had recommended 24 years in prison.
The charge of ordering a murder regards Robin van Ouwekerk, who was one of the main suspects in the controversial case about a torture container in Wouwse Plantage. The murder was not committed for unspecified reasons. It is possible that the person who was meant to commit the murder had been arrested in the meantime in a different investigation. Leijdekkers had set a price of 200,000 for the murder. “Chilling” is what the court called the way Leijdekkers decides about life and death.
According to the court, all the OM’s accusations of Leijdekkers were proven. Prosecutors had already charged him with importing six shipments of cocaine from South and Central America via the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. The shipments were intercepted in 2019 and 2020.
A seventh transport was accidentally sent on to Finland. Leijdekkers henchmen tried to reclaim the shipment using violence on his orders. The container had ended up with a company that had nothing to do with drug trafficking. The court: “The ease with which the suspect organizes violence is almost frivolous.” One employee was injured in the robbery of the Finnish company.
