Feyenoord is releasing seven players for the European Championships
Feyenoord has the most players of any club in the Eredivisie at the European Championships. Last season's league runners-up will have seven players in the finals in Germany.
Justin Bijlow and Lutsharel Geertruida have been included in the Dutch team. Dávid Hancko and Ondrej Lingr (Czech Republic), Leo Sauer (Slovakia), Gernot Trauner (Austria), and Luka Ivanusec (Croatia) will also travel to Germany with their national teams. Mats Wieffer and Quinten Timber were also under consideration for Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman. However, they were ruled out due to injuries.
Ajax is represented in the Dutch national team by Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn. Ahmetcan Kaplan (Turkey), Borna Sosa (Croatia), and Josip Sutalo (Croatia) are also going to the European Championships with their national teams. PSV will send Joey Veerman and Jerdy Schouten to the Oranje. Johan Bakayoko is part of the Belgian selection.
Michal Sadílek is the only FC Twente player at the European Championships. Pawel Bochniewicz was part of the Polish preselection, but the SC Heerenveen defender withdrew at the last minute. For the time being, the Eredivisie will be represented at the European Championships with 16 players.
