Joost Klein is no longer favored to win Eurovision, bookmakers say

Joost Klein’s first rehearsal of Europapa did not do much for the bookmakers’ confidence in his chances of winning the Eurovision Song Contest. The Dutch entry dropped a spot and now falls outside the top three.

The first rehearsal happened on Tuesday. Joost Klein took the stage in Malmo with his friends Stuntkabouter and Appie Mussa, who was in a life-size blue chicken costume. The act also included a light show and video images of currywurst.

After days of being in third place with the bookmakers, with a chance to pass Croatia in second place, the Netherlands dropped down to fourth place on Wednesday, the Telegraaf wrote. The bookies now think Italy has a better chance of winning, putting the Italian entry in third place.

Joost Klein and his friends will rehearse again on Friday.
