Over 400 kilograms of professional fireworks found at Zevenbergen home

The police discovered over 400 kilograms of professional fireworks at a home on Sint Josephplein in Zevenbergen after an anonymous tip on Tuesday. The police called the unprofessional storage of this amount of fireworks in a residential neighborhood “life-threatening.”

After getting a tip about a large amount of fireworks at the home, police officers immediately went to check what was going on. In the home, they found large boxes with about 225 kilograms of professional fireworks. Another 200 kilograms of fireworks were stored in a trailer parked nearby.

“Not only is selling professional fireworks punishable, but private individuals buying professional fireworks are also punishable. Trafficking and possession carry a maximum prison sentence of six years,” the police said.

The police seized all the fireworks and notified the municipality of the find. “It will also take measures against the residents.”
