Is it time for a home makeover? Four inspiring ideas

It is important to feel at home in your house. It is therefore essential that you decorate the house completely according to your taste. This allows you to feel comfortable in it without it bothering you. Is this the case for you? Then it might be time for a home makeover. To give you some inspiration, below we list four interior changes to consider.

1. Wooden panels on the wall

To give the living room a luxurious and natural look at the same time, it is important to work with natural materials. For instance, a wooden panel, in Dutch called houten paneel, is absolutely trendy. These panels have all sorts of narrow slats attached next to each other. When you put several panels together, it creates a soothing, atmospheric and natural effect.

But besides looking nice, it also has other advantages. For instance, wooden panels create a better sound effect, because the panels have a muting effect. In addition, these panels are available in several colours. That means there will always be a suitable colour for you.

2. Give your furniture a touch up

Do you have a nice cabinet in your living room, but it no longer looks nice in the new interior? No problem: you don't have to get rid of it. You can also give it a touch up.

Degrease it, scrub it and give it a nice colour according to your taste. Think of a shade of brown, or choose black. These two colours are on trend and are guaranteed to give a luxurious look inside.

3. Work with different materials

To make your living room seem warm and inviting, instead of sterile and cold, it is a good tip to work with different materials. Think wood, jute, metal and even cotton. This will create a homely atmosphere, which is probably exactly what you want to achieve.

In addition, choose a natural shade for the wall: think taupe, beige or light brown. In any case, don't leave the walls white. White walls are of course timeless, neutral and combine well with any style, but in the long run a white wall will feel cold. Moreover, white walls can make the furniture not stand out. So there are plenty of reasons to give the wall a new colour.

4. Plants, plants and more plants

Having plants in your home is always a good idea. Plants add the finishing touch to your living room. They add life to your home. In addition, plants in the house also have advantages. Think, for instance, of higher humidity and cleaner air. Say hello to an urban jungle!
