Tips for buying paint online in the Netherlands
Buying wall paint online is not an easy task. If you do not know exactly which wall paint you want to buy, the possibilities are overwhelming. There are all kinds of wall paint: from cheap to very expensive. Which one is the best for your painting job? In this blog we will tell you all about it!
However, it is important to note that painting your wall properly is not just about buying the right paint or a brand you like, like Sikkens verf. The condition of the substrate also influences the product to be chosen. In addition, you need good tools that match both your paint and the surface to be painted, like a roller that gives the smoothest possible effect on your smoothly plastered wall.
Are you in doubt about wall paint or latex? There is no need as there is no difference at all between wall paint and latex. So whatever the paint is called: it is technically the same product that you can use for painting walls and ceilings. Therefore, keep this in mind when you buy wall paint online!
Choose the right scrub rating
A scrub-resistant paint can be cleaned well to very well, i.e. scrubbable. This is expressed in a scrub class from 1 to 5. A paint with scrub class 1 is best cleanable. In many cases, experts advise you to opt for this option. It is handy in the kitchen for example, where walls can get dirty quickly. So ask yourself which scrub class is necessary for the room you are going to paint.
It is not necessary to use a wall paint with scrubbing class 1 to paint the walls in a mountain attic. The scrub class must match the function of the room!
Choose a paint with good coverage
As long as you don't buy house brand wall paint from the hardware store, you usually don't have to worry about the coverage of the paint. In an online shop you will only find A-brand wall paint and it generally covers well. However, there is a wall paint that really covers better than other paints, namely Sigma Sigmatex Superlatex Matt.
In addition to the fact that this wall paint provides fantastic coverage, it is also very pleasant to work with. That is why many experts often recommend this option!
Choose a matte wall paint
Which gloss level you choose, of course depends entirely on your taste and wishes. Nevertheless, we recommend everyone to opt for a matte wall paint. You can choose between extra matt, lime matt and matt. This camouflages unevenness or banding on walls and ceilings the best.
The rule of thumb here is: the more matte the wall paint, the fewer irregularities you will see. Do you still want to use high-gloss or satin wall paint? Then think carefully about this. The walls and ceiling then stand out enormously. Imperfections become visible and when the sun shines on the wall, you can comb your hair in it. Glossy wall paint reflects enormously, especially if you apply two or more layers.
