Dutch banks to soon support Apple Pay

ABN Amro and Rabobank clients will soon be able to use Apple Pay. Bunq also announced support for the payment function, effective immediately.

Rabobank put a page online saying that the Apple Pay function will "soon" be available. "We are now working hard to make it available to our customers", the bank said. "As soon as Apple Pay is available, we will tell you on our website and in Rabo Online Banking how to install and use Apple Pay.

ABN Amro also created a special page on its website with more information on how customers can set up and use Apple Pay. The bank says, however, that customers will "have to wait a little longer", as the function must first be linked to the ABN Amro app. Exactly when this will happen, is not yet clear.

Bunq also announced the arrival of the payment service, and customers can start using Apple Pay immediately. On the Bunq site, customers can find out how to set up Apple Pay in the Bunq app, and how to link their Bunq card to Apple Pay.

Until now, Apple Pay could only be used through ING in the Netherlands.
