Pregnant woman assaulted at Amstelveen festival; police looking for witnesses

A pregnant woman was assaulted at the kiss-and-ride of music festival Vunzige Deuntjes in Amstelveen on Saturday, July 20th. The police are looking for witnesses.

At around 5:15 p.m., the woman dropped someone off at the kiss-and-ride of the festival in the Amsterdamse Bos. When she drove back, a group of around eight young men were on the road ahead of her. A number of them did not get out of the road and one of them was bumped by the car.

One of the young men opened the car's passenger door and - despite the woman shouting that she was pregnant - kicked her multiple times, the police said. The woman got out of her car. A bystander came to her aid and called the police. A number of the young men kicked her car while this was happening.

According to the police, the group consisted of about six young men with tanned skin and two with light skin. They are between the ages of 20 and 25 years old. The suspect who assaulted the woman has light skin, is around 1.8 meters tall, with dark blond hair which he wore with the side shaved and a lock half in front of his eyes. He was wearing a bright green shirt and jeans.

The police call on anyone who witnessed the incident, or may know the suspects' identity, to come forward.
