Convict slips out of Rotterdam prison in blue garbage bag

Authorities are searching for a prisoner who hid in a blue trash bag and escaped from the De Schie Penitentiary in Rotterdam on Friday, according to RTV Rijnmond. The escapee was being held for theft, according to the Telegraaf, and he made his prison break around 9:15 a.m.

"We are now sorting that out," a spokesperson told the newspaper when pressed for details of the escape.

"Right when the report came in we started our search," a police representative said. Authorities were busy on Friday creating a profile of the convicted man, and determining the intensity of the manhunt.
