Bus from Amsterdam burns out on German highway

A FlixBus bus from Amsterdam to Frankfurt completely burned out around 50 kilometers from its destination during the early hours of Monday morning. All 48 passengers got out of the burning bus unharmed, Het Parool reports.

The fire started in the engine of the bus when it was on the A3 highway near Idstein. It quickly spread to the rest of the vehicle. The German police estimate the damage at around 200 thousand euros.

The stranded passengers were given shelter in the neighborhood, while the travel agency sent another bus to take them the rest of their journey.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
