Murdered yoga instructor found hacked to pieces in chest on balcony: report

The body of murdered yoga instructor Julia Leda was found hacked to pieces in a chest on the balcony of her and her partner's home on Neptunusstraat in Scheveningen, Omroep West reports based on the Public Prosecutor's indictment.

The partner, 41-year-old Andrei K., is suspected of strangling Julia to death and then cutting her into pieces. He bagged the body parts and put them in a chest on their balcony, according to the Prosecutor.

Julia's body was discovered on January 11th. K. reported her missing two days earlier, according to the broadcaster.

Andrei K. could not accept that Julia wanted to leave him, Omroep West writes. He admitted that he hid her body, but says he doesn't know how she died.

K. will appear in court for the first time next week Wednesday for a pro-forma hearing.
