ING double debits reversed

.

Dutch bank ING managed to track down the fault that resulted in . The bank reversed the double payments and by now all customers should have their money back, RTL Nieuws reports.

The problem was caused by a mistake made during system maintenance. The error was in the adjustment of the payment system, a spokesperson said to the broadcaster. The transactions involved were mainly debit card payments made on Monday.

Due to the fault, some ING customers had too little balance on their account to make payments. ING has no direct solution for that problem. But according to the spokesperson, customers who went into the red due to the double debit will not be charged interest on the overdraft.

The double debited amounts were not paid twice to the companies where ING customers used their debit cards.
