Man, two kids hit by car in small town parking lot; man killed

A man and two children were hit by a car in a parking lot in Lauwersoog, Groningen on Sunday. The man was killed and the two children were injured, one seriously. The police believe the man was the father of the two children. Both kids are in hospital, RTL Nieuws reports.

The accident happened on a parking lot at the entrance to the boat towards Schiermonnikoog. Witnesses say the driver, a woman, swerved to avoid an accident with a bus and hit the tree pedestrians. The woman was questioned by the police.

The police described the accident as "very unpleasant". The cause of the accident is under investigation.
