Teenagers suspected of manslaughter in fatal stabbing of Nick Bood, 16
Two teenage boys that were arrested for stabbing 16-year-old Nick Bood to death in April, are suspected of manslaughter, the Public Prosecutor said in the court of Haarlem on Monday. If premeditation can be proven, the 16-year-old and 18-year-old boys will be charged with murder, regional broadcaster NH reports.
The younger suspect's first pro-forma hearing was held behind closed doors, as he is still underage. The older boy's was not. Both suspects have been in custody for months and will remain in custody for now.
Nick Bood from Assendelft was attacked and stabbed late in April in the middle of Zaandam's nightlife area. He died in the hospital. The two suspects were arrested a few days later.
On Monday morning Bood's father posted a photo on Facebook showing that he had a portrait of his son tattooed on his upper arm. "I miss you every minute, but from now on I'll always have you close", he wrote with the photo.
