Trail of dead animals found in Zuid-Holland town

A disturbing discovery was made in the Zuid-Holland town of Oegstgeest during the early hours of Friday morning. Several dead animals were found lying on President Kennedylaan, the Leiden Noord police said on Facebook.

The police responded to reports of dead animals around 2:55 a.m. At the scene they found a rooster, a chicken and a dog lying in what looked to be a trial. They were all frozen for later cremation and came from the freezer of a nearby animal clinic, according to the police.

The animals were returned to the freezer.

"We find this disgusting and unacceptable behavior", the police said on Facebook. They call on any witnesses of this "malicious act" to come forward.
