Community service for threatening MP Kuzu

A 65-year-old man was found guilty of threatening DENK parliamentarian Tunahan Kuzu on Facebook and sentenced to 60 hours of community service by the court in The Hague on Monday. Half of the sentence is conditionally suspended, ANP reports.

"One day I'll go to The Hague and wait for him. The earth should be rid of him, along with the other jerk", the man wrote on the social media site. They come here with a con and now they want a majority for those cowardly Muslims. Well, not here: here we will do something about it."

Kuzu and fellow parliamentarian Selcuk Ozturk are the driving forces behind political party DENK. Sylvana Simons, candidate parliamentarian for the same party, also received threats.

The Tweede Kamer, the lower house of parliament, will soon hold a debate about discrimination and racism following these threats.
